On October 28th, members of the Southeast Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association met at the Island Lake Shooting Range in Brighton to compete in the 4th Annual Green Industry Chapter Shoot Out Competition. The event featured a friendly competition as the teams shot at 50 sporting clays on a 7-station course. We were fortunate and the weather cooperated again this year and we all enjoyed a beautiful Michigan Autumn day.
After the event we all had a safe, outdoor, delicious dinner sponsored and delivered by Unilock® Michigan, Inc. Our appreciation goes to Tom Niebauer, Unilock General Manager and the entire Unilock Team for their continued support of our great Green Industry, the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association, and for hosting this event.
It was a fun afternoon and the competition was close but three individuals and one team rose to the top to win the Shoot Out. In 1st place our sharp shooter was Aaron Phillips of Rocks ‘N’ Roots, hitting 38 out of 50 clays. In a tie for 2nd place were Jason Zendt and Jered Baumert of Rocks ‘N’ Roots, hitting 35 out of 50 clays. And, in 3rd place we had Caitlin Zendt of Rocks ‘N’ Roots hitting 31 out of 50 clays.
This year’s winning team is…drum role please…Team Rocks ‘N’ Roots—Jason Zendt, Aaron Phillips, Caitlin Zendt, and Jered Baumert! For the fourth year in a row, Team Rocks ‘N’ Roots will take the championship traveling trophy back to their office to be displayed until next year’s competition. Make sure to stop by Rocks ‘N’ Roots to see it proudly displayed!
Congratulations to all of our winners and our appreciation goes to all of the Chapter members that participated.
